God, Jehovah, the Eternal One, the Father, the Creator

We believe that God is eternal, has revealed Himself as ONE God, complex

in His unity, existing in THREE persons,  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the

Trinity.  God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity and is

the Creator. He exists as One God (not three gods): the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and, as the Godhead, is flawlessly and perfectly immutable (unchanging).  (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6:4)

 

Jesus, the Son of God, the Messiah, the Christ, the Savior of All the World

 We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man Who is the express image of God on the earth. We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, and in His miracles. (Matthew 1:21; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; John 14:7-9; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6)

 

We believe in His vicarious and atoning death, that Christ died for our sins, was buried, descended into hell to take from Satan the keys to that place, and rose again in His bodily resurrection on the third day, that He personally appeared to His disciples, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. (I Corinthians 15:1-8; Romans 4:25)

 

                                                             We believe Jesus ascended to Heaven with a great cloud of saints, was exalted

                                                             by God the Father, and will come to Earth again for the Church and in power

                                                             and glory to rule over the nations. (Matthew 24;  Mark 16:19; John 14:2,3; Acts

                                                             1:9-11; Philippians 2:5-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:28)

 

                                                       The Holy Spirit, the Comforter,  and the Baptism in the Holy Spirit  

                                                              We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, given at salvation as an

                                                              earnest of further promises.     (2 Corinthians 1:22; Ephesians 1:14). 

 

We believe the Scriptures teach a life of holiness. Sanctification is a separation from that which is evil and a dedication unto God. We believe all believers should earnestly pursue sanctification by walking in obedience to God’s Word. We further believe that the Christian is enabled to live a godly life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

 

The baptism of the Spirit is an additional gift from the Lord. 

Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, believers are empowered for Christian service and gifted for Christian service. We also believe that the Lord Himself chooses those whom He will baptize with the Holy Ghost and with further evidences of power. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is typically evidenced by speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. The Holy Spirit also enables believers to live a Christ-like life exhibiting Godly character.                   (Luke 11:13; Acts 1:8, 2:1-4, 8:17, 10:44-46, 19:6; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12)

 

We believe in the operations of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in I Corinthians 12:14.

 

The Bible

It is the inspired, or God-breathed, Word of God; 66 books written across the years

through men chosen by God Himself to act as His scribes, and that every word is

given to us by a loving God.

 

We believe that the Canon of Scripture has been divinely preserved and that it is,

in fact, the Word of God, and is useful for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly

furnished unto all good works.  (2 Timothy 3:17)

 

The Word of God in text points us to the Word of God in Person, Who is Jesus Christ.

 

 We hold that it is authoritative, accurate, and applicable to life today. Our theological position is that we believe in the plenary verbal inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given. This means we believe and accept that the Scriptures, although written across time and by various scribes, are authored by God Himself, and therefore they are infallibly and uniquely authoritative and free from error in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological. (II Timothy 3:16; I Corinthians 2:13). 

 

Finally, we stand firm upon the two immutable truths of God’s counsel and His oath, in which it is impossible for God to lie, and this we hold as the anchor for our souls. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 1; Hebrews 6:18)

 

Man and Salvation

 We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain righteousness on his own. We believe man was created good and upright, but fell from that place of perfection into a condition of spiritual depravity. Thusly, man stands condemned in the light of God’s justice.

                                                                  We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith

                                                                  in the perfect and sufficient work of Jesus on the Cross by which our sin was

                                                                  atoned. We believe the only means of our being justified and cleansed from

                                                                  our sin, and thusly the eternal penalty of it and its control over our soul, is

                                                                  through repentance and through faith in the precious blood of Christ. And

                                                                  we believe that personal salvation is evidenced in the regeneration of the

                                                                  believing man or woman by the Holy Spirit.

The Scriptures say that in the final days, all will know the one name of God, and that at His name every knee will bow, and through the name of Jesus Christ all must be saved, and therefore it is in His name that we pray.

Water Baptism

We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  (Colossians 3:17)

 

We believe this fulfills the command of Christ and reflects the method used by the apostles, recognizing in the  Godhead, the Father (Lord), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit (Christ).

Healing

We believe in the healing of the body by divine power, also known as divine healing, and

that the quality and timing is entirely up to the Lord.            

Our part is to accept His will and His gift in faith, but to know that all things are ultimately

in His hands.      (Acts 4:24-31; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14-15)

 

Communion of saints  

We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers. However, we do hold an open communion, which means we will offer the communion bread and grape juice to any willing to partake with us, knowing that if someone chooses to treat this sacrament with disgrace, God will deal with their hearts and souls.  We choose to use grape juice, and not wine (which references corruption through fermentation), to reflect the lack of corruption Jesus offers to us as new creatures in Him.

Heaven and Hell  

                                                                                 We believe both heaven and hell are literal places existing in eternity

                                                                                 and that the freewill of man in choosing to follow or not follow the

                                                                                 Lord Jesus Christ settles that person's final destination.

 

                                                                                 We believe in eternal life in Heaven for believers and eternal

                                                                                 punishment in Hell for unbelievers and for those who have fully

                                                                                 chosen to turn their backs on the Lord having once tasted of His

                                                                                 salvation.

 

                                                                                  We believe that repentance and return to the Lord is open to all

                                                                                  until the moment of death, when at that point they go to stand

                                                                                  before the judgment seat of Christ.  (John 3:16; John 5:24; Matthew

                                                                                  25:31-46; Mark 9:43-50; Luke 12:5; Hebrews 6:4-8; 1 Peter 1:3-4:

                                                                                  2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10-15)

We believe in the reality and person of Satan and the eternal judgment of Satan and his angels, and that hell was created specifically as punishment for Satan and his angelic followers.  If a person ends up in hell, it is by that person's choice and freewill to deny the sin atonement the Lord has provided, and thereby reject the Lordship of Jesus Christ in his or her life. (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:7-15)

 

The Church

We believe in the power and significance of the Church as the bride and body

of Christ.  It is necessary for believers to meet regularly together for teaching,

for fellowship, for prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’.

The church of Jesus Christ is the last instrument that God is using to extend

His kingdom prior to the second coming of Christ. We believe that Jesus will

return to this earth in order to judge all who have defied His Lordly position,

claim that which was purchased by His blood, and rule and reign over all His

possession for eternity. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:20-23; 3:10)
