In the early days of the church, Advent was a time of prayer, fasting & confession. Today, Advent is more a time of preparation & expectation of the coming of the Lord. Did you know the second advent candle has 3 different themes? Faith--to indicate the faith it took for Mary & Joseph to deal with the unexpected pregnancy & the trip to Bethlehem; Peace--for the peace promised to all mankind through the coming of the Savior; & the Bethlehem Candle pointing to the Savior's birth in a manger. He is coming again. Prepare!

​Have you ever considered just how vines grow? Or how trees are grafted? Jesus often used the natural things of the world which His audience understood, or at least with which they were familiar, to teach on things of the principles of the Lord. Using such pictures make God's Word more clear to those who want to know more about Him. In this message Elder Phil is delving into John 15 and looking to the natural to explain the spiritual in his message, "Only A Branch".

More like you and less like us…. You can hear the prayers of the saints over the years calling on the Lord to cleanse and repair their souls, minds, attitudes, and behaviors from what they were to what they should be. We are the inheritors of that legacy, and when we cry out in hope and pain as we see ourselves in the mirror of His face, we should also know that we are reaching not only to a Holy God and the Judge of all the earth but a Friend Who sticks closer than a brother, a Friend that desires and calls for us to meet Him daily and face to face. According to Genesis 1:26, God initiated fellowship with us. He made us in His image and personally intervenes, leads, and directs on our behalf; He shows us continuously that He made us for a relationship with Him. What should be our response?
